Call for Presentations

The Casualty Actuarial Society invites you to be a part of an exciting seminar for fall 2010. The 2010 Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar (CLRS) Planning Committee is soliciting your submission of proposals for presentations at the upcoming seminar scheduled for September 20-21, 2010 at the Disney's Contemporary Resort Lake, Buena Vista, FL.

The Planning Committee is issuing this Call for Presentations to solicit ideas for professional content and identify outstanding speakers for the 2010 event. The 2010 CLRS committee wants your ideas for sessions that will deliver outstanding value to the top risk management professionals globally while exciting and engaging attendees.

The following are suggested general themes/tracks for CLRS sessions/topics. These are simply broad guidelines, and the Committee welcomes additional ideas outside these areas, provided they fall within the scope of Loss Reserving. The intent is to address various practical applications and insights across a broad spectrum of industries to foster cross-pollination and collaboration of Loss Reserving professionals no matter what area of discipline, geography, or sector they practice in.

Please submit your proposed session title, session description, speaker(s) and other requested information using the online submission process linked below by March 5, 2010. The invitations to participate in the program will be extended by May 3. Please note that real-life applications, hands-on/interactive sessions, and practical case studies will be favored.

Online Submission Instructions & Guidelines

There are 4 steps to the online submission process, each step must be completed before you can advance to the next step:

  1. Session Title

    Enter the Session Title, Submitter's Email Address, Session Track/Category, and Calculator Rating (if applicable)

  2. Speaker(s)

    Provide the names and personal contact information of the Session Coordinator(s), Moderator, and Panelist(s), who are associated with the session.

    A session may have the following people associated with it:
        * Moderator - 1 per session
        * Panelist(s) - Maximum of 5 per session

    The online system will send an email to the Session Coordinator(s) only upon being added to the session. In addition, the session must have a minimum of one Session Coordinator before the system will allow you to advance to the next step.

  3. Session Description

    *Session Description must be 400 words or less.
    *No images, tables and/or figures are permitted
    *The only text styles allowed in the Session Description are bold and italic
    *The following file types may be uploaded:
    • plain text document (*.txt)
    • HTML document (*.htm)
    • HTML document (*.html)
    Or simply cut & paste the text from your document file.

  4. Confirmation

    Make sure the information on the "Confirmation" page is correct. In addition, receipt of the Confirmation page does not guarantee that the submission was completed correctly, or free of errors. If necessary, changes can be made to the submission between now and the online deadline. Please note, the online system does not send an email confirmation upon completing the online submission process.
