2009 CAS Annual Meeting
November 15-18, 2009Call for Sessions
The Casualty Actuarial Society invites you to be a part of 2009 CAS Annual Meeting. The Program Planning Committee (PPC) is soliciting your submission of proposals for presentations at the upcoming meeting scheduled for November 15-18, 2009 at The Westin Boston Waterfront in Boston, MA
The PPC is issuing this Call for Presentations to solicit ideas for professional content and identify outstanding speakers for the 2009 event. The PPC wants your ideas for sessions that will deliver exciting content, outstanding value and that will be engaging to attendees.
The following are suggested session topics. These are simply broad guidelines, and the PPC welcomes additional ideas outside these areas. The intent is to provide actuaries and other professionals an opportunity to stay up to date with topics relating to insurance and risk.
- Ratemaking for Specific Lines of Business
- Loss Reserving for Specific Lines of Business
Please submit your proposed session title, session description, speaker(s) and other requested information using the online submission process by July 22, 2009 by clicking the link below the submission instructions. The invitations to participate in the program will be extended by August 7. Please note that real-life applications, hands-on/interactive sessions, and practical case studies will be favored.
Online Submission Instructions & Guidelines
There are 4 steps to the online submission process, each step must be completed before you can advance to the next step:
- Session Title
Enter the Session Title, Submitter's Email Address, Session Track; and Calculator Rating. - Speaker(s)
Provide the names and personal contact information of the Session Coordinator(s), Moderator, and Panelist(s), who are associated with the session.
A session may have the following people associated with it:
* Moderator - Maximum of 1 per session
* Panelist(s) - Maximum of 5 per session - Session Description
*Session Description must be 400 words or less.
*No images, tables and/or figures are permitted
*The only text styles allowed in the Session Description are bold and italic
*The following file types may be uploaded:- plain text document (*.txt)
- HTML document (*.htm)
- HTML document (*.html)
- Confirmation
Make sure the information on the "Confirmation" page is correct. In addition, receipt of the Confirmation page does not guarantee that the submission was completed correctly, or free of errors. If necessary, changes can be made to the submission between now and the online deadline. Please note, the online system does not send an email confirmation upon completing the online submission process.
